https://beevi.ai/tools/what-to-post-today/calendar.icsHow this page picks what to post
The page reads the date from your own device, so it turns over at your midnight, not ours. When a day has more than one occasion, it leads with the one a small business is most likely to plan around: shopping days and big holidays first, then days of remembrance, public holidays, awareness days, and last the fun food and novelty days. The others are one tap away.
The three post ideas follow the kind of day. A food day gets a behind-the-scenes clip, a customer question and an offer you only post if it is real. A day of remembrance never gets an offer: a quiet line, your hours, and a way to help. A public holiday is mostly about your hours. When nothing is on, you get an idea for the weekday instead, such as answering a customer question on a Tuesday or showing the team on a Friday. Those work any week.
The countdown always points at the next date worth planning a week ahead, such as Halloween, Black Friday or Diwali. In the Global view it skips dates kept in only one country.
Where the dates come from
This page uses the same list as the social media holiday calendar. A fun day such as National Pizza Day is listed only when National Today and a second source, usually the Wikipedia list of food days, agree on the date. UN days follow the UN list of observances, and UK bank holidays follow GOV.UK. Easter and the Hebrew-calendar holidays are computed, so no one types them in by hand. Eid is left out, because its date depends on the moon sighting.
The US, the UK, Canada, Australia and Israel are curated by hand. Public holidays for 200+ other countries come from date-holidays, under CC BY 3.0, without regional holidays.
Add the holidays to your calendar
The feed is a standard iCalendar subscription. Each date is an all-day event marked free, so it never blocks a meeting, and its notes hold the hashtag, a post idea and a link back to that day on this page.
- Google Calendar: press Add to Google Calendar and confirm. On a phone, add it on the web first; it then shows in the app.
- Apple Calendar: press Apple Calendar on a Mac, iPhone or iPad and choose Subscribe.
- Outlook: press Outlook, or paste the feed link under Add calendar, Subscribe from web.
Writing a post or a newsletter about social media holidays? You are welcome to link the feed directly: https://beevi.ai/tools/what-to-post-today/calendar.ics. Add ?country=gb or any two-letter country code for one country. The format follows RFC 5545.
Questions people ask
What national day is it today?
The top of this page shows it for your own date, worked out in your browser. A fun day such as National Pizza Day is listed only when two public sources agree on its date, so some days show none. Those days get an idea for the weekday instead.
What should I post on social media today?
If today has a holiday that fits what you sell, post about it from your own angle: something you make, your hours, or a question for customers. If nothing fits, skip the holiday and post the weekday idea. A real photo from your day beats a holiday graphic.
Is it a US national holiday today?
Pick United States in the country list. The page then shows federal holidays such as Thanksgiving and Independence Day, plus the US observances and fun days, and leaves out dates kept only in other countries.
Which day is National Day?
It depends on the country. Canada Day is July 1, Australia Day is January 26, and US Independence Day is July 4. Pick a country above to see its own public holidays, including its national day, alongside the global dates.
How do I add social media holidays to Google Calendar?
Press Add to Google Calendar under the week strip and confirm. Google subscribes to the feed, so new dates appear on their own and you never have to import a file again. Apple Calendar and Outlook work the same way, and there is a one-off .ics download too.
Do I have to post on every holiday?
No. Most holidays will not fit your business, and a forced post is easy to scroll past. Pick the few that match what you sell, and plan those a week ahead.
Why does the page show a different day than my friend sees?
Each visitor sees their own date. Someone east of you may already be on tomorrow, and the country you pick changes which holidays show.
