Instagram doesn’t have an official MCP server for posting (as of September 2026). Meta’s official MCP server, launched in April 2026, is for ads: campaigns, budgets and reports. To publish from ChatGPT or Claude you need a third-party Instagram MCP server. Get your Beevi API key
In Beevi, click Connect my AI on your home screen, or open Settings → API Keys, and create a key. Copy it now: it is only shown once. A workspace key reaches one brand; an organization key reaches all of them.
Add Beevi to your AI
Pick your assistant under MCP Instructions. ChatGPT and Claude need only this URL and a Beevi sign-in; for code editors Beevi shows the config with your key filled in.

Setup by assistant

Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code or Cursor

Beevi shows these exact values under Settings → API Keys → MCP Instructions, with your key already filled in for the code editors.

Web and desktop app

Open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
Go to Plugins, click +, and name it Beevi.
Under Connection pick Public endpoint, paste the URL below and choose OAuth. Leave the client ID and secret empty.
Save it. ChatGPT opens Beevi: sign in and click Allow. No API key needed.

Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
Name it Beevi and paste the server URL below.
Leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty, click Add, then Connect.

Instagram MCP questions, answered

Does Instagram have an MCP server?

Not for posting. As of September 2026, Instagram has no MCP server of its own, and Meta’s official MCP server handles ads only. Beevi’s MCP server lets your AI create and schedule Instagram posts, Reels and carousels to the account you connect in Beevi.

Is Meta’s official MCP server for posting?

No. Meta’s server at mcp.facebook.com/ads, in open beta since April 29, 2026, manages ad campaigns, catalogs and reports for Facebook and Instagram. It doesn’t publish organic posts.

Can ChatGPT post to Instagram?

Not on its own. Add Beevi as a plugin in ChatGPT’s developer mode and ChatGPT can ask Beevi to make a post, Reel or carousel and schedule it. You approve it before it goes live.

Do I need an Instagram Business account?

Yes. Instagram only lets apps publish to Business accounts linked to a Facebook Page. You can switch a personal account to Business for free in the Instagram app.

Can it read my Instagram comments, DMs or insights?

No. Beevi creates and publishes your posts. It doesn’t read comments, messages or analytics.
